Note: Accurate PDF text extraction typically requires a PDF parsing library (and OCR for scans). This is a demonstration interface.

PDF to Text: What to Expect

PDFs are designed for layout, not for clean text extraction. For true text-based PDFs (generated from Word/Google Docs), extraction is usually accurate. For scanned PDFs (images), you generally need OCR (Optical Character Recognition). Also note that columns, tables, and headers/footers may extract in a different order than visually displayed.

Tips for Cleaner Output

  • Try per-page mode: Helps you keep context when copy/pasting.
  • Extract only the needed pages: Use ranges to avoid noise.
  • Watch out for tables: Table cells often flatten into lines.
  • Scanned PDFs need OCR: If output is empty, your PDF might be an image.
